Large production shows are performed at the
Eltham,
Smaller events are held at Hurst Community Centre,
SOS welcomes new members in all capacities - backstage, front-of-house, wardrobe, and singing, acting and dancing. We welcome all potential members to come to a Friday rehearsal, where you will find a warm reception, and to join in with the society.
If you would like to join as a chorus member, or a potential principal we do ask you to audition by singing a song of your choice and, if necessary, sing the vocal line you are most comfortable with from 'Strange Adventure' from the 'Yeoman of the Guard'. This G&S song is often used as an audition piece and is easily available. Usually, however, it is possible to hear from the solo chosen what a singer's voice is like.
N.B. - Full Senior Members and Full Student Members are entitled to vote, when necessary, in all matters concerning the Society.
There is a small subscription levied at each rehearsal; currently this is £2 per Senior and £1 per Junior Member.
2) All paid-up members may audition for principal roles; a simple audition is currently required to join the Society.
3) Your membership gives you the opportunity to participate in all productions, concerts and other activities, musical or social.
